Erin Ashley McCarthy

Hello, and welcome to erinashleymccarthy.com! I am a Canadian artist and art educator based in Mont-Tremblant, in the Quebec Laurentian mountains. My art practice is rooted in a deep appreciation for nature, atmosphere, light, and emotional resonance, often expressed through landscapes and intimate, evocative compositions.

Originally from Montreal, I studied at La Palette Art School before completing both a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art History and Studio Art, and a Master’s degree in Art Education at Concordia University. My academic background informs both my creative work and my approach to teaching, blending technical skill with a strong emphasis on personal expression.

Alongside my studio practice, I am a dedicated community art educator, designing and leading workshops for youth, adults, and intergenerational groups. My teaching focuses on making art accessible, engaging, and meaningful— encouraging participants to connect with their creativity in an intuitive and supportive environment.

My artwork explores the interplay between colour and emotion, light and depth, stillness and presence. Whether painting expansive landscapes or small, intimate pieces, I always seeks to create work that feels both grounded and atmospheric.

In addition to my studio and teaching practices, I also offer live painting experiences for weddings and special events, creating one-of-a-kind pieces on-site that capture the energy and emotion of meaningful moments. These works become lasting heirlooms, bridging fine art with lived experience.

I continue to develop my body of work while expanding my educational offerings through workshops, courses, and curated artistic experiences.

I invite you to explore my website and please reach out if you would like to start a conversation and learn more.
